Welcome to the Junior High School!

Welcome Back!

We had a great week welcoming the staff and students back to school. It is so wonderful having everyone back filling the halls.

On Monday we had a full staff meeting. At our meeting our amazing school nurse, Mrs. Dawn Seitz, was recognized as the Teacher of the Year from both the Junior and Senior High Schools. Mrs. Seitz is an invaluable member of our learning community and we were thrilled she received such a great honor.

Each month students will be nominated by their teachers for Student of the Month. This year we are also going to be asking for nominations for Teacher of the Month. If a teacher has done something special for you that exemplifies the qualities of our PBIS characteristics: Respectful, Responsible, or Safe, consider nominating them. You will have to fill out this form to nominate a teacher.

Technology

Most students were able to receive their iPads and we have almost all of our 1:1 agreement forms returned. If you need another one, click on the above link.

If you are having any trouble with getting your Apple ID, please fill out the Apple ID Request. Or contact Jeff Bain in IT for help completing the Apple ID process.

School day

Our school day starts very early.  Just a reminder that classes start at 7:22 AM daily. Students should not arrive to school before 7:00 AM, and should report directly to the auditorium when they arrive. School is over at 1:37 PM. Students are not allowed to stay after school unsupervised. They need to be picked up or take the bus home right after school unless they are staying with a teacher or for an activity that starts directly after school.

Late buses should begin by October 1. They run on Mondays and Wednesdays.

After school activities

Sports are off to a great start at the Junior High. For the fall, we have boys and girls soccer teams, and a boys and girls cross country team. It is great to get involved.

Student council has also begun meeting. Student council plans some exciting events at the junior high and it is a great way to have your voice heard.

Make sure you know what is going on by being on our daily announcement mailing list or viewing our daily announcements on the Jr HS home page.

We are off to a great year at the Junior High.
