September 12, 2015

Hope we will see you all on Monday night, September 14, 2015 at Open House. We will meet in the auditorium at 6:00 PM. Following the initial meeting, you will have an opportunity to meet with your child's teachers.

Just a reminder that there will be NO evening conferences in the fall for the Junior High School.

The school websites contain a great deal of information. See the home page for a letter from the superintendent
EWG Support staff have also created a great parent resource page that covers a variety of topics you might be interested in.

As a school, we participated in "One School, One Book" as part of our summer reading. All students and teachers read the book "Wonder" by R. J. Palacio. Teachers and students have been doing projects related to the book and on Monday night at Open House, you will see many of these project throughout the school.

One group of students created this "wonder"fully artistic word art.

Students also did some scientific research about the syndrome that Auggie has and created presentations to explain why Auggie was the way he was. Click here to check out one of the many fantastic projects. Copy and paste the link on the last page to see the video created by the students.

When is an orange more than an orange? When it is used as a teaching tool to help students explore and explain the concept of map distortion.

During the school day, students are expected to have their cell phones turned off and left in their lockers. If they need to communicate with their parents for any reason they can come to the office and make a phone call.

See you all on Monday night at Open House.
